Job Title: Landscape Apprentice

Job Summary:

The Landscape Apprentice is responsible for assisting in the design, installation, and maintenance of landscaping projects. This is an entry-level position where the apprentice will receive on-the-job training and development in areas such as horticulture, landscape design, equipment use, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with Landscape Design:
• Help with the preparation and planning of landscape projects, including planting, mulching, and hardscaping (paving, retaining walls).
• Landscaping Installations:
• Help install sod, plants, shrubs, and trees
• Assist with hardscaping, such as the installation of walkways, patios, and other outdoor features.
• Assist with installation of Irrigation Systems
• Assist in building a variety of fences
• Maintenance:
• Perform routine maintenance, such as mowing, trimming, edging, and blowing debris from sidewalks and driveways.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Equipment Operation:
• Operate various landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.) under supervision.
• Operate trucks with trailers (training provided)
• Operate and maintain use of skid steer and walk behind skid steer with various attachments
• Maintain equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Learning and Development:
• Participate in training to gain knowledge of plant species, landscape design principles, safety procedures, and best practices in the landscaping industry.
• Seek guidance and feedback from experienced professionals to improve skills and knowledge.
• Customer Service:
• Assist with communication with clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and attention to detail in landscaping projects.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Follow all safety guidelines, use protective gear, and adhere to company policies and regulations regarding landscaping work.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Skills: Basic understanding of landscaping tools and techniques (or willingness to learn), strong work ethic, ability to follow instructions.
• Physical Ability: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Experience: Prior landscaping experience is a plus but not required.

Work Environment:

• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Requires some flexibility in working hours.
• 4 Day work weeks (10 hour days)

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
