Overview
The Lake County Visitors Bureau (LCVB), Tour Lake County, is the official Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) for Lake County, Ohio. We are seeking an Independent Contractor to work in conjunction with the LCVB and Grand River Valley (GRV) wine region stakeholders to expand upon the growth of the Grand River Valley, which has become one of the most popular wine regions for visitors in the country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop relationships with winery owners and management at each of the GRV area wineries.
- Manage GRV social media accounts, including creating a plan to grow followers, executing a campaign to market the region, and maintaining consistent posts with relevant content.
- Develop a new website for the Grand River Valley in collaboration with CVBs, determine the appropriate website development company, supply web developers with content, and give direction.
- Refresh the existing GRV Winery Guide two times each year and coordinate distribution to partners on a regular basis.
- Research local, regional, and national wine-related events and attend those deemed appropriate, covering costs as needed.
- Work on a plan to provide individual wineries with the opportunity to create their own on-site photo-opportunity station.
- Alert media to newsworthy stories regarding the Grand River Valley, develop relationships with local media partners, and proactively provide stories and content.
Requirements:
- Minimum one to three years of experience in event management, digital marketing, sales, communications, social media management, or a related field.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills.
- Experience managing social media for a business or organization.
- Positive, professional, and diplomatic in all communications.
- Skilled in creative content creation and management.
- Ability to work some evening and weekends.
- Knowledge of wine and wine regions is a benefit.
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
