Overview

Drug Safe Solano (DSS) is currently seeking to hire for a part time administrative program manager position with benefits. This position is funded by a grant through the CA Opioid Prevention Network (COPN) that supports our efforts to respond to the opioid epidemic in Solano County. The DSS administrative program manager will work with the rest of the DSS hired staff and members of the coalition to assist with implementation of community-based strategies to curb the impact of the opioid epidemic at the local level. The DSS administrative program manager will provide administrative support as well and help with project management duties aimed at increasing the capacity of the coalition, including planning, logistics, data management, and communication. The DSS Support Staff will also provide support with outreach efforts to engage the community in collaborating to attenuate morbidity, mortality and other health risks associated with opioid misuse and abuse.

Responsibilities

Project management:

  • Gather action group updates for steering committee meetings, and report to coalition leads to keep them up to date.
  • Aid in coalition data collection processes and dissemination efforts.
  • Help identify new intervention or advocacy opportunities.
  • Maintain and support a strong online and media presence accessible by all members of the community,
  • Meeting scheduling, logistics, and follow-up to keep action groups on task.
  • Assist in monitoring, implementing, and evaluating grant funded programs.
  • Research, collect data, and assist in preparation of grants.
  • Local dashboard data maintenance.
  • Maintain website.
  • Keep track of deliverables at all events
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Community outreach:

 

  • Work closely with community members in promoting events and outreach activities.
  • Provide culturally responsive community-based patient education trainings on Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
  • Review, select and order informational and educational literature.
  • Field requests and queries from community or media.
  • Conduct surveys.
  • Manage public service events and support efforts to institute ongoing services (i.e. take-back bins available at all times).
  • Prepare exhibits, brochures, flyers, posters and other materials for presentations to the public, community agencies, support groups, health care professionals and elected officials.
  • Outreach and communication with providers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Administrative Support

  • Contribute to grant reports and be responsible for maintaining accurate program records and submission of accurate and timely reports
  • Send out emails with notifications to providers and/or stakeholders
  • May help maintaining Outlook distribution lists for DSS Coalition
  • Spreadsheet/database maintenance and creation
  • Prepare draft agendas for Coalition and action teams
  • Schedule meeting invites
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Include:

 

  • Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Skills: Presenting public health information to the public, both orally and in writing.
    • Interacting with people of all social, economic, language, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
    • Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands, and meeting deadlines.
    • Establishing and maintaining professional working relations with co-workers, other County employees and representatives from other agencies.
    • Operating a personal computer utilizing a variety of software including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

 

  • Abilities: Promote collaboration, partnership development, and capacity-building across multiple agencies.
  • Identify and evaluate community health needs.
  • Organize participation in program activities.

  • Professional Certification: N/A.
  • Experience: Entry level.

 

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Education: Master of Public Health from an accredited college or university or 5 years' experience working directly with populations impacted by substance use disorder
  • Knowledge of health care delivery system, health policy, health and human services agency functions, chronic pain, mental health, and substance use disorders preferable.
  • Skilled in use of Zoom for professional meetings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Teams, Word and Excel for recording and organization of documents related to grant management

 

Working conditions and physical requirements

 

Work is performed in both an office and an off-site environment, which may include working outdoors and occasional evening and/or weekend events such as health fairs and other special events. May require sitting in an office environment for extended periods of time.

USD $45,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $36,000.00/Yr.
