OverviewFaculty delivers and / or develops educational materials, teach in the lecture or skills laboratory setting, record videos and / or perform student assessment. Assigned to provide instruction in a portion of the curriculum for which indiividual has suitable training and experience.Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver curriculum including (but not limited to) lectures or laboratory lessons on assigned topics
- Use current standards and references for educational materials in accordance with Tourocom curriculum and objectives
- Perform curriculum development and delivery in accordance with the requirements set forth by the appropriate Course Director, Chair, Vice / Associate Chair or Dean
- Participate in assessment of student performance through appropriate examination methods as assigned
- Promote an appropriate atmosphere for student education and be responsive to students' needs
- Serve on committees, as assigned
- Advise and mentor students, as assignedQualifications
- MD or DO degree
- Strong knowledge base in specialty area(s)
- Demonstrated ability and desire to teach
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Enthusiasm and motivation to contribute to the growth and development of osteopathic medicine and the university
