What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baker position at Tous Les Jours Bakery Cafe?
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our bakery team. Bakers will play a vital role in our bakery operations, focusing on the preparation, shaping, and baking of dough. You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and consistency of our baked goods by carefully monitoring the fermentation, baking and cooling processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare frozen dough by following prescribed procedures and utilizing dough conditioner to achieve optimal quality and consistency.
2. Monitor and assess the fermentation status of dough, ensuring proper rise and texture development.
3. Shape and prepare the dough for baking, following specific guidelines for each product.
4. Monitor the baking process to ensure products are baked to perfection, maintaining the desired color, texture, and flavor.
5. Safely transfer baked goods to the cooling pad, ensuring they are properly cooled before proceeding to the filling and packaging stage.
6. Collaborate with team members to maintain an organized and efficient workflow throughout the dough production and baking process.
7. Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
8. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production and baking areas, regularly sanitizing work surfaces and equipment.
9. Follow quality control procedures to identify and address any deviations from established standards.
Requirements:
- Candidates must not have any existing health conditions or mental illnesses that would significantly impede their ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Candidates must have no history of substance abuse or drug addiction.
- Proven experience as a Baker, preferably in a bakery or similar food establishment.
- Knowledge of dough production techniques, including thawing frozen dough and utilizing dough conditioners.
- Familiarity with shaping and preparing dough for baking, adhering to specific instruction.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality and consistency.
- Adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations, with a focus on maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
