Job Summary
An integral part of Towards Employment’s overall advancement and community engagement team, this position partners with the Chief Advancement & Community Engagement Officer to drive organizational donor strategy including fund development; grants, moves and volunteer management; and special events. The Advancement Manager is responsible for creating and executing a comprehensive strategy for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of annual individual contributors. Using strong interpersonal skills and a passion for our work, the successful candidate will be able to build relationships with donors and prospects to maximize financial donations and help Towards Employment achieve its organizational and strategic goals. This position is part of the Management Team and manages 1 staff member

Fund Development Practices
- Foster a donor-centric approach in all advancement work across the organization
- Gain familiarity and remain knowledgeable in Towards Employment programming and activities helping identification and alignment of donor interest and TE’s work
- Maintain a productive relationship cross-functionally with programs, community engagement, marketing and finance teams to advance development work
- Excel in all development activities including effective proposal and impact report writing that broadens and deepens donor base
- Maintain active community relationships and networking opportunities during and outside work hours
- Based on revenue budgets; set goals and objectives to achieve fundraising success
- Responsible for day-to-day oversight and support of the Advancement Associate, who maintains all donor information and activity in donor software system
Grants Management (30%)
Annual Fund (30%)
Successfully plan and execute all development strategies of a $400K-$500K annual fund campaign including the planning and execution of a moves management plan for existing donors, implementation of the Board Individual Development Plans (IDPs), with the inclusion of an annual event.
Increase annual fund giving by 10-20% annually through retention and acquisition
Analyze prospective donors and develop a strategy and plan that creates a desire to support Towards Employment as a donor
Volunteer Management (20%)
Lead all volunteer efforts for Towards Employment
Oversee Advancement Associate’s role as staff and board liaison for Towards Employment Young Professional’s Group
Special Events (20%)
Provide project management for annual event; working with ACE team to coordinate and track fundraising activities and logistics with increased revenue as primary goal while nurturing key relationships and event objectives
Special projects as needed by the Chief Executive Officer or the Chief Advancement & Community Engagement Officer.
