Tower Engineering Professionals is seeking a full-time Wetland Scientist in our Raleigh, NC office. As a wetland scientist you will serve as an integral member of our environmental team. Summary
The individual will primarily provide project management, review, training, field work, and technical report writing for wetland delineation projects and other related activities such as ordinary high-water mark (OHWM) delineations and stream determinations throughout the U.S.
Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, natural resources, geology, botany, wildlife biology, engineering or a related field
- 3 years of experience completing wetland delineations, OHWM delineations, stream determinations, and permitting
- Detail oriented with the ability to balance project priorities to ensure successful completion
- Ability to perform field work
- Excellent soil science skills and dendrology / botany species identification experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with office machinery including computers, fax machine, copier, etc.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a team and manage numerous projects simultaneously
Essential Functions
- Provide assistance and training on wetland/stream assessment field work and reports
- Completion of wetland/stream permitting
- Perform office activities including project planning, permitting, subcontractor contracting, data compilation and presentation, and report preparation
- Project management

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be at site locations (both on the ground and on building roof tops), sit, stand, walk, use both hands, and reach and raise items above the head, use fingers to feel and handle, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel and crouch, lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds
Work Environment
Approximately 25% performed in an external environment, on-site, outdoors, exposed to the elements of nature working under normal construction conditions. Approximately 75% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.
