Park Ranger - Unarmed

Tower Grove Park is known for its unique, historic Victorian architecture, its extensive network of trails, and its signature community events and activities such as the Farmer’s Market and the Festival of Nations. However, one of the main attractions for our 2.5 million annual visitors is the 289 acres of green open spaces and woodlands that serve as a natural oasis in the middle of a densely populated, diverse urban area. The living landscape of Tower Grove Park includes 7,500 trees, hundreds of varieties of woody shrubs, stunning horticulture, and many acres of grassy turf in which Park visitors can relax, socialize, exercise, study, and enjoy nature.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Responsible for communicating with and assisting the public.

• Patrol Park by provided vehicle on foot, and mountain bike.

• Enforce Park ordinances and established policies.

• Provide security of grounds and facilities.

• Assist with daily operations of Park facilities, scheduled activities, and equestrian operations.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR Tower Grove Park seeks team members who enjoy being outside, meeting people, and have a general inclination to help people. This entry level position is perfect for someone who enjoys working in a public facing role on a team and sometimes fast paced environment but is also comfortable working independently. Successful applicants will demonstrate that they have an attention to detail, practice good judgment, and are generally calm under stress. Based on business needs and due to the variety of duties, Park Rangers must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, day, evening, and overnight hours. Rangers may be exposed to a wide variety of outdoor working conditions, including but not limited to dust, snow, rain, and physical hazards associated with working in this environment. Hourly pay range starting from: $15.50 Tower Grove Park offers a comprehensive benefits package to all full-time employees. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Applicants are required to pass pre-employment drug and background checks. Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to a minimum of 1 year of Security experience. Must possess a valid Driver's License and an active Security License, with endorsements for mace and baton. be able to acquire unarmed Security Officer License from St. Louis County Division of Private Security within 90 days of hire, with endorsements for mace and baton.
