Job Summary
The Cytotechnologist is responsible for performing microscopic examinations, providing final interpretations of normal gynecological specimens, providing initial interpretations of non-gynecological, FNA and abnormal gynecological specimens using standardized procedures; assisting in the collection and preparation of FNA and biopsy specimens for immediate evaluation; understanding method principles; performing quality control and quality assurance activities and evaluating results based on patient demographics and history. The Cytotechnologist works independently, organizing work to meet established deadlines and validates all data obtained.
