We partner with food and beverage businesses to provide reliable waste reduction and recycling services while supporting family farms with innovative revenue diversification opportunities. Our closed-loop process transforms organic waste and cow manure into renewable energy and nutrient-rich byproducts, contributing to a greener future. Headquartered in Massachusetts, we are expanding operations nationwide and are seeking a Senior Communications Manager to elevate our brand and drive strategic messaging.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Communications Manager to lead our external and internal communications efforts. Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Strategic Initiatives, you will be responsible for managing media relations, creating impactful content, coordinating corporate events, and fostering strong internal communications.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can execute initiatives that strengthen Vanguard Renewables' brand, drive business growth, and enhance employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Media and Public Relations:
• Develop and distribute press releases and media content
• Pitch, write, and secure placement of feature articles
• Build and maintain relationships with media outlets
• Manage crisis communication efforts in collaboration with legal and government relations teams
• Content Creation:
• Oversee the creation of articles, white papers, insights, and marketing collateral
• Manage content distribution across platforms, including paid placements and webinars
• Support speaking engagements and panel participation with strategic content
• Event Management:
• Plan and execute events such as groundbreaking ceremonies, corporate celebrations, and community conversations
• Coordinate events with Government Relations and Development teams
• Internal Communications:
• Work closely with Human Resources to manage internal programs like town halls, Boston Weeks, and company-wide events
• Create and distribute engaging internal communication materials to enhance employee connectivity
• Strategic Collaboration:
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support business objectives, including sales, development, and government relations
• Manage freelance talent for design, copywriting, and other communication needs
• Program Oversight:
• Track and report progress on communication projects, budgets, and timelines
• Ensure alignment of messaging with the company’s strategic goals
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field
• 8-10 years of experience in communications, media relations, or event management
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to plan and manage events effectively
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
• Experience in sustainability, food industry, or energy sectors preferred
• Familiarity with graphic design, social media platforms, and publishing tools
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Experience in investor relations and community relations is a plus
