Duties

• Assist in the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation and cooking tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Handle food safely and responsibly, following all food handling guidelines.
• Use kitchen equipment and utensils properly, including knives, to ensure efficient food preparation.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality meals.
• Support the Dietary department by assisting with special dietary needs as required.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food safety practices.

Skills

• Experience as a cook or in a similar kitchen role is preferred but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential.
• Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities is a plus.
• Strong culinary skills with an emphasis on food preparation techniques.
• Ability to handle kitchen equipment safely and effectively, particularly knives.
• Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
