On behalf of our client, Tower Pinkster, we are conducting a search for a Senior Mechanical, Electrical, or Structural Engineer in the New Albany office. Reporting to the Department Manager, this position is responsible for building relationships and collaborating with clients at the planning level to determine solutions and develop a system plan.
In addition, the senior engineer would be responsible for designing systems for projects from beginning design to completion of construction administration, leading the design team through the development of contract documents of significant scale and/or complexity, and participate in new business development and marketing efforts.
Essential Duties Responsibilities
- Partner in business development functions which include maintaining positive client relationships, contributing to the pursuit of projects, networking to create personal connections, and involvement in professional organizations.
- Participate in the process of interviewing with prospective clients.
- Collaborate with clients in the planning and design process, determining solutions and defining the scope of the project and deadlines to meet client needs.
- Define the scope of work and determine budget targets.
- Provide project management, design expertise, and contract administration for select projects.
- Serve as the subject matter expert to resolve project issues.
- Manage existing client relationships and develop relationships with future clients.
- Lead project team to create systems design.
- Oversee the production of all phases of construction documents, which include schematic documents, design documents, bidding, and construction administration.
- Conduct field assessments, design analysis, and perform site visits.
- Create and write reports and presentations to clients.
- Perform as Project Manager on projects.
- Mentor team to share experiences, knowledge, skills, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
- Prepare and review “red lined” documents for the discipline’s designer and engineer’s growth and development.
- Lead, teach, and guide other project team members to assist in their growth and development.
- Provide input on work priorities and project scheduling.
- Conduct quality control reviews on various projects
- Serve as a mechanical subject matter expert to resolve project issues.
- Provide input to department standards and procedures.

Qualifications Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Licensure, additional certifications preferred.
- 10 years’ experience in the A/E Industry preferred.
- Revit experience and experience in all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- In-depth knowledge of A/E construction documents and construction industry preferred.
- Participation in professional organization memberships.
