Position Purpose

The Credentialed Veterinary Technician performs a critical role in providing high quality care for patients. Credentialed Technicians are key partners to the veterinarians, providing the appropriate support to ensure each client interaction and procedure is seamless and successful. Credentialed Technicians apply their professional skills in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, laboratory testing, patient nursing, and client education.

Essential Responsibilities
- Assisting veterinarians in advanced medical, surgical, and diagnostic procedures
- Monitoring patient vitals during surgery and recovery, ensuring safety and comfort
- Administering medications and treatments with precision and attention to detail
- Performing diagnostic tests, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and cytology
- Educating clients on advanced treatment plans, preventative care, and at-home care techniques
- Fostering a collaborative, positive work environment by mentoring and supporting team members
- Communicate with veterinarians and practice team members including client discussions, patient plans, client concerns, etc.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications
- State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician in state of desired employment
- Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
- Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
- Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
- Advanced anesthetic monitoring and management, including troubleshooting complications
- Proficiency in dental radiography and performing dental prophylaxis procedures
- Experience with ultrasound assistance and positioning for diagnostic imaging
- Expertise in placement of central and peripheral catheters
- Knowledge of pharmacology for calculating drug dosages and preparing medications
- Ability to independently induce and maintain anesthesia for complex procedures
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining advanced laboratory equipment
- Strong skills in sterile surgical preparation and assisting in specialized surgeries
- Leadership skills for mentoring team members and ensuring adherence to best practices
- Excellent communication skills for client education and post-treatment consultations
