Town & Country Animal Clinic in Granbury, TX is looking for two experienced veterinary assistants/technicians to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a problem solver, motivated, engaged, and able to work flexible hours.
Position Summary:
As a Veterinary Assistant/Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinarian and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic. You’ll work closely with our team to provide exceptional animal care, assist with procedures, and maintain a clean and organized environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist our veterinarian during examinations, surgeries, and treatments
- Handle and restrain cats and dogs
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments
- Administer medications and vaccinations and perform blood draws
- Perform laboratory tests (bloodwork, urinalysis, etc.)
- Maintain accurate records and update patient files
- Provide compassionate support to pet owners
- Keep treatment areas and equipment clean and sanitized
- Take care of boarded animals on weekends ( rotating shifts).
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a veterinary setting preferred
- Strong communication skills and empathy for animals
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Comfortable handling animals of various sizes and temperaments
