Job Description:
- The Registered Patient Care Representative is responsible for performing non-compounding and non-billing activities related to patient care
Reports To:
- Executive Administrator and Customer Service Supervisor
Job Activities and Responsibilities:
- Must have knowledge of and follow applicable company Standard Operating Procedures, NJ BOP regulations, and HIPAA privacy guidelines.
- RPCRs are often the first point of contact for customers so RPCRS must greet and assist patients and prescribers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Shall ensure the accuracy of patient information/profile by verifying patient DOB, address, phone number, email address, allergies, disease state(s), and medication profile.
- Data entry of prescriptions, patient demographics, and physician information into pharmacy dispensing software and Excel spreadsheets;
- Assist in answering and triaging incoming phone calls and taking and relaying messages.
- Other patient communication responsibilities include: scheduling medication pick-ups and deliveries, collecting payment from patients, and entering information into Excel spreadsheet.
- Responsible for ensuring sufficient follow-up activities for all prescriptions currently “on hold.”
- Back up the front desk/cash register.
- Place refill reminder calls to patients on a weekly basis and make other courtesy calls as needed.
- Responsible for marketing and promoting the company's services, such as seminars, consultations, other compounded formulations, and supplements/vitamins.
- May be required to work extra hours based on business needs.
- Work under the supervision of the Executive Administrator and the Customer Service Supervisor.
- Perform other miscellaneous tasks as needed and as assigned
Qualifications:
- Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the NJ Board of Pharmacy;
- Previous experience in pharmacy billing and customer service;
- High school or equivalent education;
- Detail-oriented and able to manage time, prioritize, and adhere to deadlines in a busy environment;
- Customer friendly with excellent communication and telephone skills, and demonstrated good judgement;
- Ability to contribute in a positive and fast-paced team environment;
- Independent worker/self-starter with the ability to maintain an organized workstation
- Must be punctual and have regular attendance
- Will be required to obtain PTCB Certification after 90 days of employment
