- Oversees and participates in the daily operations of the Fresh Cut Department in coordination with the Produce Manager
- Ensures adherence to all Food safety/HACCP/Sanitation requirements
- Ensures all product quality, cutting and packaging spec’s are consistent and reliable
- Ensures products and display areas meet or exceeds “Ready for Business” standards
- Trains new department employees & writes department schedule
- Responsible for department sales & labor budget, grosses, and reports
- Provides excellent customer service skills
- Ensures the dissemination & adherence to all company policies
- Maintains adherence to all security & safety policies
- Adheres to proper waste management and recycling procedures
- Writes & fulfills orders, coordinates promotions, ensures proper signage on all products & inventory management procedures for the department
- Maintains department cleanliness, product freshness, & variety
- Maintains retail price, integrity, and accuracy
- Maintains all aspects of accurate receiving, billing, quantity, quality, grade, food safety, returns & credits
- Produce/foodservice experience preferred
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Must have strong knife/cutting equipment skills and knowledge of cooking techniques
- Must have understanding of process controls, product flow and quality assurance standards
- Flexibility to work afternoons/evenings/weekends/holidays
- Exemplifies health department standards
- Must have product quality and consistency mindset
- Good communication skills/excellent organizational and record keeping skills
- Ability to work with a diverse group of customers and employees
- Must possess a strong desire to work hard, be enthusiastic, participate in achieving management goals, and lead by example
- Willingness to take calculated risks to maximize sales
- Must possess basic computer skills including MS Office
- Visionary, leader, team player with good follow through and people skills
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to have full body mobility (Standing, bending, stooping, twisting, & reaching)
