What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilites Manager position at Town of Acton?
The Town of Acton is seeking applicants for the full-time benefitted position of Facilities Manager. The Facilities Manager will oversee projects, repairs, programs, and maintenance activities related to the improvement and maintenance of town facilities.
General Duties and Responsibilities: Plans and coordinates efforts to support the implementation of projects identified in the 2023 Town wide facility study, in addition to managing emergency facilities repairs. Participates in multiple projects from conception through design and construction while also ensuring routine maintenance to existing facilities. Provides supervision to the Crew Leader and Facilities staff. May provide functional supervision of Contractors, and will act as a resource to Building Maintenance staff.
Minimum Entrance Requirements: Associates degree or higher in Facilities or Construction management or related field. Five (5) years of experience with facilities and building maintenance; knowledge of building codes, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning or equivalent combination of education and experience. Driver’s License. Ability to complete the Public Contract Overview Certification from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Inspector General’s (IG) Office within 18 months of hire or within 18 months after first offer of class by IG’s office.
Preferred Qualifications: Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official (MCPPO) certification. Construction Supervisors License (CSL).
Pay Rate: Pay range from $90k to $124k depending on qualifications, skills, and experience.
