```Duties```
- Enforce laws and ordinances to maintain public safety and order
- Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect criminal activity
- Respond to emergency calls and provide assistance as needed
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and make arrests when necessary
- Write detailed reports on incidents, arrests, and investigations
- Testify in court as a witness when required
- Conduct traffic stops and issue citations for traffic violations
- Provide traffic control and assistance during special events or emergencies
- Maintain a visible presence in the community to deter crime
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies on joint operations or investigations
```Requirements```
- High school diploma or equivalent (some agencies may require a college degree)
- Completion of a certified police academy training program
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old (age requirements may vary by agency)
- U.S. citizenship or legal residency status
- Ability to pass a thorough background investigation, including criminal history check, polygraph examination, and psychological examination.
- Excellent physical fitness and ability to meet department fitness standards
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and procedures related to law enforcement
- Ability to use firearms safely and effectively
