ABOUT THIS POSITION:
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
This position performs detailed research and analysis of criminal intelligence information. Work involves analyzing data, writing reports, and developing links between criminals and crime groups or patterns of criminal activity.
This position reports to the Criminal Investigations Lieutenant. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
- Compiles data from reports daily to stay abreast of crime patterns and trends; reviews and merges reports daily to stay abreast of crime patterns and trends.
- Produces bulletins and reports to notify officers, investigators and command staff of emerging trends and patterns used to guide tactical police activities.
- Performs tactical, investigative, criminal intelligence, and regional crime analysis.
- Provides credible, timely, and actionable intelligence to support investigations that assists detectives.
- Provides support to command and operations personnel in development of operational & tactical plans through analysis of crime data.
- Develops & maintain maps/charts delineating geographic patters of criminal activity utilizing GIS police software.
- Testifies in court proceedings.
- Conducts video analysis.
- Performs related tasks as required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Graduation from High School or GED with a minimum of one (1) year of experience in statistical analysis, research, predictive intelligence analysis.
NC Driver’s license.
DCI certification within six months of hire.
