Regional Peer Recovery Coach and Coordinator
Hours: Part-time (18 hours per week)

Position Summary:
The Regional Peer Recovery Coach and Coordinator will provide non-clinical, person-centered recovery support to individuals living with substance misuse and addiction across the communities of Arlington, Belmont, Brookline, and Newton, MA.
Please note – This is a contracted, non-exempt position not eligible for benefits.
This role will:
Assist in the launch and coordination of a peer recovery network.
Coordinate training for those in recovery to receive recovery coach certification.
Connect community members to resources.
Support harm reduction, treatment, and long-term recovery efforts.
The coach will serve as a trusted mentor and advocate, offering multiple pathways to recovery fostering a welcoming and stigma-free environment for those seeking support.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide peer-based recovery support through individual meetings, group facilitation, and community outreach across each partner community.
- Assist individuals in navigating treatment options, harm reduction services, and recovery pathways based on their personal goals.
- Develop and coordinate a peer support certification program in partnership with community organizations and local health department staff.
- Serve as a liaison between public health, social services, police department, and local coalitions to strengthen substance use prevention, intervention, and recovery efforts.
- Promote a non-judgmental, culturally responsive approach to engaging individuals with diverse experiences.
- Offer guidance on reducing barriers to recovery, including housing, employment, and healthcare access.
- Maintain documentation of support services while upholding strict confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Participate in trainings, supervision, and professional development to enhance recovery coaching skills.
- Willing and able to travel to Arlington, Belmont, Brookline, and Newton, MA.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Lived and living experience with substance use and sustained recovery (preferred minimum of two years).
- Knowledge of harm reduction, treatment options, and multiple recovery pathways.
- Recovery Coach Certification required.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Experience in peer support, community outreach, or public health settings preferred.
- Familiarity with local recovery resources in Massachusetts is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-community structure.
- Bilingual language skills are a plus Spanish/Portuguese preferred).
- Basic proficiency in email, documentation, and virtual communication tools.
- A valid Massachusetts driver’s license with reliable, insured transportation to travel between Arlington, Belmont, Brookline, and Newton, MA.
Compensation & Work Conditions:
- Part-time position at 18 hours per week (flexible scheduling required).
- Hybrid work environment with community-based engagement and office-based administrative tasks.
- Hourly wage of $31 per hour.
- The Regional Peer Recovery Coach role is a part-time (18 hours per week) hourly position and requires flexible scheduling (evenings and weekends as needed). A cover letter highlighting your interest and experience is required.
