The Public Facilities Maintenance Technician under the direction of the Director of Public Works is responsible for operating and maintaining the public buildings within the Town of Ashland by performing preventive / predictive maintenance on builds and building systems as well as answering work order requests. Utilizing training and experience in both the building trades as well as mechanical maintenance this diverse position will typically work independently to ensure public buildings function properly, safely, and are welcoming to the public.

Candidates will have a High School diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of 3 years or documented building maintenance / construction experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants should have knowledge and experience in maintaining multiple buildings at different locations. A Technical School Graduate or 2 year college degree program with a focus in building maintenance, facilities management, mechanical maintenance. Knowledge of state building code, NFPA Life Safety Code and hands-on building maintenance experience is preferred. Employee should have knowledge and experience in maintaining multiple buildings at different locations. Employees must have basic knowledge of computer systems, email, Google Suite, Microsoft office, and online work order systems.

This is a non-exempt, benefitted position, 40 hours per week. The schedule is Monday-Friday 7am-3pm. The position is located in Ashland, MA. Salary range is $27 -$30 per hour.
