Position Overview:
The Town of Avon, Colorado, is accepting applications for a Recreation Fitness Coordinator!
The Fitness Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination and management of comprehensive fitness and wellness services at the Avon Recreation Center. This position is also responsible for the leadership, day-to-day management and operations of group fitness, personal training, and fitness area.

Essential Functions:
- Oversees and helps plan all fitness and wellness related programs including but not limited to group
fitness, personal training, specialty programs. - Hires, trains, schedules, supervises, and evaluates fitness staff; provides or coordinates staff trainings
and quarterly meetings. - Enforces risk management standards through all fitness programs and fitness floors.
- Assists with the development, implementation, and marketing of fitness programs.
- Maintains a high level of communication through effective in-person and written methods.
- Maintains fitness equipment with weekly, monthly maintenance routines.
- Assists with the preparation and monitoring of the budget, along with assisting in ordering of parts.
- Develops and maintains positive relations with the community and fitness participants.
- Ability to pick up Personal Training clients and occasionally fill in for Group Fitness Classes.
- Maintains records and generates reports as directed including, but not limited to attendance reports,
program reports, incident/accident reports. - Observes necessary precautions to assure public safety; inspects facilities/grounds for safety and
maintenance needs. - Attend work on a regular, reliable, and punctual basis.

Qualifications
- Ability to communicate in English effectively both verbally and in writing; Spanish is considered a plus
- Ability to be flexible with job duties, from personal training to group fitness, to maintenance.
- Requires possession of Group Fitness Certification and/or Personal Training Certification.
Special Requirements: Associates degree and minimum of two (2) years of experience in the
fitness and wellness industry is required and/or Nationally Recognized Personal Trainer/ Group Fitness
instructor Certification. Minimum of one (1) year of recreation program management experience preferred.
Previous supervisory experience preferred. Adult CPR, AED and First Aid Certification is required.
