What are the responsibilities and job description for the LABORER- DPW- UNION POSITION position at Town Of Barrington?
The Town of Barrington, RI is accepting applications for a full-time LABORER- a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) CLASS B License is required. Incumbents will perform a variety of general duties for the daily operation of the Town’s Highway Department, and Grounds and Building Maintenance Divisions. Candidates will be responsible for a variety of laboring tasks including grounds keeping, landscaping, carpentry, field maintenance, panting and snow removal etc. Ideal candidate will also have experience in plumbing and/or masonry. Work will be performed inside and/or outside in all weather conditions.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Graduate or GED Equivalent; MUST possess a Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Ability to lift 25-40 pounds; flexibility to work additional hours during emergencies or storms; must pass a pre-employment physical exam and drug test; working knowledge of the hazards and necessary safety precautions in construction work; ability to understand and effectively carryout written and oral instructions; and have skills in communicating and working with fellow employees.
Salary: $47,877 Annual Salary per year – After 6-month Probationary Period Salary increases to $54,359-Opportunity for Overtime -Full Benefit Package Available.
