Job Title: Animal Control Attendant Hours: Per Diem

Function:
Under the direction of the Animal Control Officer and Assistant Animal Control Officer, the Animal Control Attendant is responsible for the cleaning and feeding of animals, kennels and cages in the absence of the Animal Control Officer/Assistant Animal Control Officer.
Typical Duties, Responsibilities, Tasks & Assignments:
· Consult clipboard for any medications needed and administer with feeding.
· Feed all animals, per the diet, appropriately.
· Empty trash into dumpster.
DOGS
· Disinfect dog runs, both inside and outside and rinse down.
· Replace bedding if soiled, or fold neatly in bed.
· Rinse water dishes and fill with fresh water.
· Remove dog food dishes when empty and wash.
· Load washing machine with any dirty bedding and run.
· Empty dryer if needed.
· Check off log board on individual kennel once cleaned and fed.
CATS
· Clean litter boxes.
· Rinse water dishes and fill with fresh water.
· Top off dry food and wet food as instructed.
· Wash all dirty dishes.
· Sweep floor of cat room and wipe counters clean.
Special Skills & Requirements: Experience working in animal environment preferred, but not required. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
Physical Requirements:
The duties of this job may include physical activities such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing/listening, seeing/observing, bending/twisting, and performing repetitive motions. Requires the ability to lift 25 pounds or more.
