Summary: The Parks Technician I-III must be a hardworking, self-motivated, and dependable individual able to work with or without supervision and enjoys working with the public. This position is responsible for a variety of duties necessary for the operation and maintenance of the Parks Department. The Parks Maintenance Technician shall work at the direction of the Parks Department Supervisor and Public Works Operations Manager.HOURS: Typical hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends.Additional Hours: Will be required to perform on-call duty, work weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary to meet the needs of the Town of BerthoudEssential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. A valid Colorado Driver’s license and evidence of insurability is requiredCPR/First Aid/AED certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment Complete in-house equipment trainingsComplete in-house CIRSA safety trainings CDOT Flagger training or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment Parks Technician IIIn addition to the requirements listed above, the Parks Technician II will have increased responsibility and has been trained to operate and maintain the large Toro mower, Toolcat, pull/back up trailers and use pesticides/fertilizers with limited supervision. Maintenance and maintenance records for all equipment and vehicles will be the responsibility of the Parks Technician II. Colorado Pesticide Applicator’s License in Turf 206 and Ornamental 207 categoriesCertified Playground Safety Inspector Parks Technician IIIIn addition to the requirements listed above, the Parks Technician III will have increased responsibility and ability to operate all equipment unsupervised.
