Summary

Certificates And Licenses
Work is generally performed in a fitness center. Still, while performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions during program oversight and evaluation. Employees may regularly travel to and from buildings to complete job responsibilities and assigned tasks.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet but may be loud at times, with frequent interruptions and frequent contact with members of the public.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following
- Demonstrate and assist with proper techniques, form, and use of equipment using verbal and visual cues.
- Ensure participant safety with observation throughout the session, modifying intensity levels and individual execution of techniques accordingly.
- Recognize emergent/dangerous situations and react quickly and calmly. Administer first aid as needed. Complete accident/incident reports.
- Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within assigned area; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
- Communicate and respond to messages from the recreation center staff in a timely manner.
- Attend all staff meetings, training, and orientations.
- Must have excellent social, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with employees and the public.
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of fitness programming.
- Provide superior customer service and resolve customer complaints.
- Be punctual and prepared for all appointments with clients.
- Prepare the site for activity, ensure proper clean up at the end of class and perform safety checks on equipment.
- Enforce fitness program rules and policies for patrons.
- Report any issues to immediate supervisor in a timely manner.
- Promote and sell personal training programs and services.
- Assist in establishing and enforcing rules of strength and conditioning areas and group fitness rooms.
- Regularly communicate with clients to determine participant interest and satisfaction.
Education/Experience: Any combination of education and experience may be considered for the position. A typical way to demonstrate the education and experience necessary for the position is:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 0-3 years of experience in leading personal training
- Nationally accredited personal training certification through ACE, AFAA, NASM, NETA, and/or other nationally recognized organizations. (Required)
- Enthusiastic and passionate with the ability to motivate others to improve their overall fitness and health.
- Knowledge of anatomy, basic nutrition, and exercise science to promote fitness and educate participants within the scope of certification and training.
Certificates And Licenses
- Must possess a valid Colorado Driver’s License.
- Current CPR/First Aid/AED Certification or acquire after 3 months of hire
- Nationally accredited personal training certification through ACE, NASM, ACSM, or any other nationally recognized organization. (Required)
