What are the responsibilities and job description for the Firefighter position at Town of Boone?
The Town of Boone Fire Department is accepting applications for the position of Firefighter. This employee performs intermediate protective service work in driving a fire apparatus, operating pumps, and fire suppression. Work is performed under emergency conditions and frequently involves considerable personal hazard. Work is performed under regular supervision. Work schedule is a 24.25-hour shift.
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and considerable firefighting experience.
Special Requirements: Possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the State of North Carolina. Possession of Level I & II Firefighter Certification and EMT-Basic certificate. All certifications shall be recognized by the State of North Carolina. Must meet and maintain all department and state training and certification requirements for position. Residency Requirement: Applicants shall reside in one of the following counties: Watauga, Avery, Ashe, Caldwell, Wilkes or Johnson County, TN.
Salary: $ 54,028 plus excellent benefits. Employee will serve a six-month probation. Town of Boone is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
