The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated and customer service oriented individual for the position of Aquatics Lead. This position is responsible for the effective delivery of facilities, programs and services that contribute to the Recreation Department and Town of Breckenridge mission and vision.
The Aquatics Lead is involved with the hands-on operation and day to day assignment of duties for a functional area within the Department including personnel leadership, guest service, facility and equipment operations and maintenance, revenue and cost control, delivery of programs and services, safety, and risk management. The incumbent seeks and follows direction from various supervisors and departments to problem-solve and promote a team-based environment, and applies departmental policies in a consistent and appropriate manner in the performance of assigned tasks. The Aquatics Lead carries out the direction set by area Coordinators and Division Managers.

- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous lifeguarding experience and basic knowledge of water chemistry testing kits required.
- One (1) or more years of customer service experience required.
- Computer experience required.
- Experience leading individuals or a team in an aquatic environment preferred.
- Previous lead/supervisory experience preferred.
- College degree in Recreation, Business, Sports Management, or related area preferred.
- To qualify for this position, the candidate or employee must pass a criminal background check.
- Community CPR, first aid and AED training required within 30 days of hire.
- Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s license required for any employees where driving would be a component of the position.
- Current appropriate nationally recognized certifications (i.e. American Red Cross), including Lifeguard, First Aid, AED, CPR for the professional rescuer, and oxygen delivery for the professional rescuer are required and must be maintained.
- Highly desirable certifications include WSI, Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, WSI Instructor Trainer, First Aid/CPR Instructor, and EMT.
- CPO (Certified Pool Operator) and/or AFO (Aquatics Facility Operator) certifications preferred.
Hiring Pay Range: $24.00 - $27.75 per hour, $49,920.00 - $57,720.00 if annualized.
WORK SCHEDULE:
This is a Full-Time Year-Round, 40-hour per week position. Primary shifts for this position generally include early mornings, late nights, weekends, weekdays and holidays. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability to meet operational needs; and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed.
