What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parks Technician - Winter Seasonal position at Town of Breckenridge?
Duties include, but are not limited to: hand shoveling snow from Town owned sidewalks, facilities and landscaped areas; Application of ice melt on Town owned property; Assisting with the installation of holiday decorations and lighting; Maintaining public grounds by picking up litter, sweeping, and general care-taking; Cleaning Town owned facilities such as Carter Park Pavilion; Daily safety checks of the sledding hill; Assisting in the upkeep and preventative maintenance of specialized Town property, i.e., street lights, signs, benches, foot bridges, play equipment, trash/recycle receptacles, etc.. - High School diploma or GED required.
- Must be available and able to work through the winter seasonal period established by the Street & Parks Division, which generally extends through mid-April, at the discretion of management.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR required at time of hire.
- One (1) year of customer service or field experience with a focus in the areas of irrigation or noxious weed control preferred.
- Previous experience or the ability to learn to operate specific equipment such as light work trucks, sidewalk plows, truck plows, tractors, skid loaders and bucket truck.
- Field experience with a focus in the area of professional snow plow operations.
- Specialized training and/or knowledge of snow and ice removal, construction and/or welding preferred.
- Public Works or construction experience or equivalent combination of skills and experience is desired.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Part-time and full-time schedules available. Incumbents in this position may be expected to work varying shifts, including late nights, early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays. Must be available and able to work through the Winter Seasonal period established by the Street & Parks Division, which generally extends through mid-April, at the discretion of Management.
