The Town of Breckenridge's Transit Division is seeking qualified and reliable individual(s) for the position of Senior Transit Operator. The primary objective of this position is to provide reliable, safe, and consistent public transportation service. The incumbent in this position shares the responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the Town’s public transportation system. The individual(s) will be responsible for operating the Breckenridge Free Ride buses in such a manner to ensure employee and public safety, route and facility efficiency, and customer service excellence. On occasion, Senior Transit Operators may be relied upon to assist with Seasonal Transit Operator training and to assume a Lead Driver role in charge of operations, as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- A minimum of one (1) year of customer service-related experience is required.
- A minimum of six (6) months transit or equivalent driving experience is required.
- To qualify for this position, the candidate must pass a criminal background check with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One (1) previous season of experience driving for the Breckenridge Free Ride is preferred.
- Valid CDL Class B or higher with Passenger Endorsement and Air Brake required within 30 days of hire.
- Valid Department of Transportation Physical card required within 30 days of hire.
The incumbent’s driving record will be reviewed on a regular basis and must be in compliance with organizational standards and policies. Further, incumbents are required to notify the Town, their supervisors and/or manager of any motor vehicle violation (except parking citations) at the time of issuance (immediately upon receipt of the ticket/violation, or upon the next working shift). This requirement exists, regardless of whether the incumbent plans to challenge the violation in court.
Full Pay Range: $27.50 - $38.62 per hour, $57,200 - $80,329.60 if annualized

Full-Time: 40 hours per week, year-round. Occasional overtime possible, dependent on organizational needs. Must be able to work shifts that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed or scheduled at the discretion of Management.
