What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sports Official (Soccer) - Summer Seasonal position at Town of Breckenridge?
The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking a dedicated and customer service-oriented individual(s) for the position of Sports Official (Soccer) - Summer Seasonal for the summer soccer league held at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena's outdoor turf field.
Individuals in this position are responsible for conducting physical inspections of playing surfaces, goals, nets, timing, and surrounding areas to ensure that equipment is in safe operating condition. In addition, Sports Officials review score sheets/make recommendations on player discipline based on player infractions. Sports Officials monitor behavior, play and actions of players before, on field during, and after the game to maintain safety values, league rules, sportsmanship and general protocol.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must have High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must have one (1) or more years of customer service experience.
- Must have demonstrated knowledge (via work history and/or playing experience) of soccer.
- Must be able to work Tuesday and/or Thursday nights from approximately 5:45 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
- To qualify for this position, the candidate or employee must pass a criminal background check.
- Basic CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications are required within 60 days of hire
- Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.
- One (1) or more years of soccer officiating experience.
- One (1) or more years of customer service experience involving adult sports leagues.
- One (1) or more years of experience playing soccer at the High School, College, or Club level.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Primary shifts for this position generally include Tuesday and Thursday nights from approximately 5:45 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. The summer soccer league season is tentatively scheduled for early May through late June 2025. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed.
