The Town of Brewster is currently accepting applications for highly motivated candidates who want to make a difference in the community for the position of Police Officer. Brewster is a seaside community with a year-round population of just over 10,000 residents, which grows to 30,000 during the summer months. The Brewster Police Department is currently budgeted to roster 23 sworn full time officers.
Duties and responsibilities include protecting the public, maintaining law and order, preventing and detecting crime, and building community relations.
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Candidates shall successfully pass a physical, psychological evaluation, and Physical Agility Test (PAT) upon offer of employment.
These are full time positions covered under the Police Union agreement, with a starting annual salary of $64,022 - $81,099 based on qualifications and experience, with additional education incentives available. Excellent benefits package includes paid time off, health insurance, and pension.
