We are seeking a dedicated Wastewater Treatment Operator to join our team. Could this be you?
Position Overview
As a Wastewater Treatment Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our treatment facility. Your responsibilities will include:
- Operating the treatment facility to regulate the flow and processing of wastewater, biosolids, and effluent.
- Monitoring gauges, meters, and control panels.
- Operating valves and gates manually or remotely; starting and stopping pumps, engines, and generators as needed.
- Performing laboratory duties and assisting with maintenance when required.
- Maintaining accurate process control records.
- Driving a truck as needed.
- Assisting with the operation and maintenance of the collection system.
- Ensuring familiarity with all safety equipment used in the department.
This position reports to the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
Qualifications & Requirements Minimum Qualifications:
- Massachusetts Grade 4 Wastewater Treatment Operator License (required).
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma, trade school education, or equivalent training and experience.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability to supervise and participate in the maintenance of mechanical equipment, buildings, structures, and grounds.
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, compost operations, sewer systems, and pump stations.
