Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and execution of civil engineering initiatives, including public infrastructure, technology solutions, and asset management.
- Coordinate and track the progress of Brooklines engineering projects, while keeping the community engaged with transparent updates.
- Oversee technical review, permits, inspections, records management, budget support, and planning for the Engineering Division.
- Advocate for engineering best practices in municipal operations, from construction standards to environmental compliance.
- Prepare presentations, organize public workshops, and represent the Town at community events and meetings.
- Manage municipal infrastructure projects and promote innovative engineering practices across the community.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Five to seven years of experience in commercial or municipal engineering and personnel management.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification required.
- Strong knowledge of municipal engineering principles, construction standards, and public bidding processes.
- Excellent communication, supervisory, leadership, and public outreach skills.
- Proficiency in Geographic Information System (GIS) and Geographic Positioning System (GPS).
- Ability to perform budget analysis, write and manage contracts, and administer grants.
- Strong technical and computer skills.
