What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Intern position at Town of Brownsburg?
The Event Intern is responsible for assisting in the development, coordination, implementation, facilitation, and evaluation of special events, programs, and services relating to the operation of the Town of Brownsburg Parks’ Recreation services.
Tentative Start: May 16
Tentative End: August 22
Hours: 40 Hours/week; Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the development, planning and implementation of recreation events and programs that aligns with Department standards and goals; evaluate the effectiveness of events and programs and suggest improvements.
- Assist in the coordination of contracted services that enhance our services and align with Department program standards and goals.
- Assist in program and event preparation, setup, execution and teardown, as needed.
- Assist in the implementation of event and program plans, support and supervise participants to foster a safe and inclusive environment.
- Assist in the management of event and program registration, auditing accounts for missing information.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of event/program information and updates to customers via e-newsletters and messaging.
- Respond to customer concerns, problems, and/or complaints in a timely manner, maintaining a customer service philosophy.
- Interpret company policy and enforce safety regulations with volunteers and participants.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory mandates for all operations.
- Analyze and resolve work problems.
- Assist with maintaining inventory of recreation supplies and equipment, initiating repairs/replacement, and ordering.
- Assist with recreation event and program budget and ensures it is adhered to.
- Prepare program reports concerning programs, costs, participant numbers, compiled survey results, and equipment and facility use.
- Assists with coordination of operating activities and documentation of recreation programs.
- Attend all meetings and trainings, as required.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
