What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Programming Intern position at Town of Brownsburg?
The Youth Programming Intern is responsible for assisting in the development, coordination, implementation, facilitation and evaluation of special events, programs, and services relating to the operation of the Town of Brownsburg Parks’ recreation and youth services.
Tentative Start: May 16
Tentative End: August 22
Hours: 40 hours/week; Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assist in the development, planning and implementation of recreation programming for youth that aligns with Department program standards and goals; evaluate the effectiveness of programs and suggest improvements.
- Assist in the coordination of contracted services that enhance existing programs and align with Department program standards and goals.
- Assist in the management of program registration, auditing accounts for missing information.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of program information and updates to customers via e-newsletters and messaging.
- Respond to customer concerns, problems, and/or complaints in a timely manner, maintaining a customer service philosophy.
- Interprets company policy to program staff and enforces safety regulations.
- Ensures compliance with regulatory mandates for all operations.
- Facilitate and lead youth programming, support and supervise participants to foster a safe and inclusive environment; Cover required child to staff ratios, as needed.
- Assist in Recreation program and event setup, execution and teardown, as needed.
- Analyze and resolves work problems, and assist participants in solving problems.
- Assists with maintaining inventory of recreation supplies and equipment, initiating repairs/replacement, and ordering.
- Assists with recreation program budget and ensures it is adhered to; prepares program reports concerning programs, costs, participant numbers, and equipment and facility use.
- Assists with coordination of operating activities and documentation of recreation programs.
- Maintains records on program activities, attendance, and other pertinent information; prepares a variety of operational and business reports, and associated correspondence.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
