This vibrant community welcomes approximately 150,000 people per day to work, eat, and shop.The Burlington Public Library is seeking a forward thinking individual to fill the position of Library Technology Specialist. This person will be responsible for maintaining computers and peripherals, assisting in long range technological development and planning for the library and assisting to provide a dynamic social media presence for the library. The Library Technology Specialist reports directly to the Library Director and works closely with the director and the management team.Major duties include, but are not limited to : Setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting public-use and staff computersIdentifying opportunities to improve existing services and workflowsWorking with the Town IT Department and the Merrimack Valley Library Consortium IT staff to identify and resolve issues, strengthen cybersecurity activities, and maintain computers and Library networksSupporting a diverse set of software and services, including the Integrated Library System, self-checkout stations, integrated audio-visual components in function rooms, the Library website, and Microsoft SharePointOther duties related to the primary scope of the positionRecommended minimum qualifications includeBachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalentHands-on experience in set up, maintenance, and repair of personal computer and network technologyAdvanced knowledge of Windows Operating Systems and Office 365Knowledge of library technology needsThis is a part-time, non-benefited position, 19 hours per week. The schedule is negotiable.Pay range starts at $27.13 / hr with the opportunity to advance to a max rate of $28.78 / hr through bi-annual increases.Applications received by January 6, 2025 will be given first consideration.
