Deputy Clerk Treasurer

SUMMARY

The Town of Caledonia in Waupaca County is seeking a qualified individual to be a part-time Deputy Clerk/Treasurer. Candidate must possess a high level of integrity, problem solving skills, strong attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills, and be civic minded. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Quickbooks, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive. Strong financial, clerical & customer service skills. Successful candidate must be a self-starter able to work with little or no supervision.

DUTIES

The job duties are outlined in Wis State Statutes 60.33 & 60.34. The deputy clerk/treasurer supports the town clerk in: handling municipal accounting, property tax collection in accordance with state directives, preparation of agendas/minutes, attendance at Board meetings, election administration, issuing of licenses and permits, audit preparation, open records requests, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, administering all functions associated with dog licensing, maintaining records, updating website & electronic sign, and publishing the town newsletter. The deputy clerk will also perform general office duties such as filing, copying/printing, answering phones/emails, and ordering office supplies.

EXPERIENCE

Experience in Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field and prior government experience preferred.

The individual must complete Clerk and WisVote training within 6 months of hire and be bondable.

The appointed Deputy Clerk/Treasurer is part-time with a flexible schedule. Work is in-person at the Caledonia Community Center in Readfield, WI.
