What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Town Clerk/Administrative Assistant position at Town of Canaan?
The Town of Canaan has a Full Time opening at Town Hall for a Deputy Town Clerk/Administrative Assistant. Duties include collecting fees and taxes, serving as an election official, assisting the public, and assisting in the day-to-day operations of Town Hall. Tasks include motor vehicle registrations, boat registrations, dog licenses, pole licenses and reconciling the days collections.
Candidates must have strong computer skills and familiarity with state and local laws governing licensing, registrations and vital statistics. Candidates much be commissioned as a Notary Public and/or Justice of the Peace; or be willing to become commissioned as such. This position has a residency requirement and candidates must be a resident of Canaan or be willing to move to Canaan within a year of hire.
Compensation starting at $20.00/hr and up to $24.00/hr depending on experience and certifications. Benefits include participation in NH Retirement System, health, dental and life insurance, and vacation, sick, holiday and personal paid time off.
