What are the responsibilities and job description for the SEASONAL LANDSCAPE WORKER position at Town of Cary?
Cary's Public Works Department is seeking enthusiastic individuals who are at least 18 years of age to work as part of our seasonal facilities maintenance team to perform general landscape and maintenance work at Cary’s parks and facilities. As a Seasonal Landscape Worker, you will perform manual work in the maintenance of Cary maintained facilities and landscapes. Our seasonal landscape employees are primarily responsible for mowing and edging during peak season. Individuals may also assist with other maintenance projects or special teams as needed.

This seasonal position will work full-time for approximately 5 to 6 months. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with the possibility of weekend/overtime work. Assist a team in the maintenance of Cary’s parks and facilities
Provide upkeep of Cary facilities with daily cutting, edging, trimming and blowing
Assist in completing landscape projects to include mulching and plant maintenance/replacement
Monitor and maintain weed control
Prepare and maintain sporting event fields, primarily through lining and dragging
Assist with other athletic events or programs/special events as needed
Complete facility and park cleanup after severe weather events
Experience in the use of gas-powered trimmers, mowers, blowers, shovels, rakes, and other small landscaping equipment.Minimum Qualifications:
18 years old, or older.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving history.
Physical requirements:
This position requires the ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, bend, push/pull, and heavy lifting. Ability to work in all weather conditions is necessary.
Preferences:
Experience in the use of gas-powered trimmers, mowers, blowers, shovels, rakes, and other small landscaping equipment.
