Kitchen Coordinator
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Kitchen Coordinator at the Town of Charlton Council on Aging. The position involves working 19 hours per week, Monday through Thursday, between 9am and 2pm.
Duties:
* Prepares and serves daily meals for seniors at the Senior Center, ensuring compliance with recognized food safety standards and Board of Health guidelines.
* Sets up dining areas, cleans kitchen and dining spaces, washes dishes, tables, sweeps floors, and ensures proper sanitation protocols are followed by volunteers.
* Conducts daily and weekly cleaning schedules for food preparation areas and other utilized spaces.
* Assists in inventorying supplies, ordering, and storing food supplies appropriately.
* Maintains daily records of attendees for meals and orders cakes and supplies from approved stores as needed.
Job Environment:
The work is performed in a traditional kitchen setting with potential hazards and discomforts common in such environments. Employees operate various kitchen equipment and general office equipment, interacting frequently with volunteers, seniors, vendors, and staff members.
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or equivalent;
* One to two years of experience working with seniors in a nutritional or food service program;
* Experience in high-volume institutional food preparation is desirable;
* Any equivalent combination of education and experience;
* Serve Safe Certification or certification eligibility required.
Salary Range:$18.66 - $20.60 based on qualifications and experience.
