What's The Job?
We are looking for a skilled Concrete Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for completing concrete repair and finishing work, including designing, measuring, marking, and setting forms, as well as determining and setting grades. You will be tasked with mixing and adding cement, installing reinforcing steel, and pouring various types of concrete. Additionally, you will level areas, set tapers, mag float edges, and perform grooving and edging on surfaces such as curbs, drains, ramps, stairs, and sidewalks, ensuring they meet specified textures. As a Concrete Specialist, you will also estimate and determine the quantity of materials required for each project and will be responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings, including ADA specifications for sidewalks, stairs, and ramps. Monitoring climate conditions and understanding how they impact the curing process while pouring and finishing concrete will be essential to your success. You will operate a variety of machinery and tools such as cement mixers, concrete saws, jackhammers, power trammels, and more, while ensuring that all equipment remains in operable condition through regular maintenance and cleaning. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, knowledge of safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in both individual and team settings.
Minimum Requirements
Here is what you must have to be considered for the position of Concrete Specialist:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 years previous experience in concrete infrastructure construction, inspection, finishing, rehabilitation, and maintenance; OR
- any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
- Valid Driver’s License
