What’s The Job?
The role of Customer Service Clerk is to perform customer service functions in person, by telephone, by mail, or through drop box: answer telephone calls and assist customers at front counter; provide assistance and information related to services, accounts, bills, charges, procedures, forms, problems or other issues; respond to routine questions, complaints, or requests for service; research problems and initiate problem resolution. Receive moneys in payment of account charges, taxes, court costs, or other fees/services: verify customer name and amount on payment stub with payment; contact customers to research payment discrepancies or questions; record transactions and issue receipts; post payments to proper account on computer; balance revenues, prepare bank deposits, and forward revenues as appropriate; balance daily cash drawers. Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
Here is what you need to be considered for the position of Customer Service Clerk:
- High school diploma or GED
- Six months’ previous experience and/or training in customer service, cashiering, general office work, and personal computer operations; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
