What’s The Role?
Working as a Planning Technician, you can expect to receive and process site plan and subdivision development project requests, review various administrative permits (fences, signs, cell towers) through friendly, professional customer service; ascertain the needs of the customer and provide appropriate assistance and information. Provide administrative support for public meetings, such as preparing meeting agendas, packets, and related documentation, and recording and transcribing meeting minutes. May conduct field survey work related to pending development applications or verify compliance with all applicable Land Development codes and regulations, i.e. zoning, parking, signage. Minimum Requirements
Here is what you must have to be considered for the position of Planning Technician:
- High school diploma or GED required, associate’s degree preferred;
- supplemented by three (3) years’ experience and/or training with knowledge in a municipal planning department; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
- Valid Driver’s License
