Description
Under general supervision, performs basic clerical, receptionist and custodial work for the Parks and Recreation Department. Is responsible for preparation and operation of Town public recreation and/or community facilities. Reports to the Recreation Coordinator or designee.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Performs basic receptionist duties at Parks, Recreation and Cultural Department facilities, such as answering the telephone and referring callers to appropriate personnel, scheduling rooms in the community center for various uses and informing the public of activities and available dates.
- Assists in the preparation and setup of rooms for various uses.
- Receives and greets visitors; escorts visitors to appropriate personnel, as necessary; assist patrons in use of equipment and facility.
- Performs various custodial duties such as mopping, sweeping, dusting, emptying trash receptacles and cleaning.
- May check in and out equipment used by individuals while at the recreation and/or community centers; may take registrations; may photograph new members and collects fees; may close out cash register at end of shift.
- Performs basic clerical duties such as maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies and keeping records of facility use.
Minimum Requirements (Must meet by the closing date of the posting unless otherwise stated)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be sixteen (16) years of age or older.- Possession of at least 6 months of customer service or clerical experience.
- Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office to include Word and/or Excel.
- A valid drivers' license with an acceptable driving record.
- Driver's license must not have been suspended within five (5) years of the date of this application (Not Insurance related).
Special Requirements
- Jobsite will be located at the Pine Island Fitness and Aquatics Center and/or Pine Island Multi-Purpose Center.
- Ability to drive a 15 passenger van with passengers.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate a computer for Rec-Trac data entry.
- Intermediate level Microsoft Office Word experience.
- Days, nights, weekends and holidays required - up to 27 hours per week.
