What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dispatcher position at Town of Davie?
Performs responsible technical and clerical work on an assigned shift dispatching emergency services personnel and equipment often in response to emergency situations; does related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision.
- High School diploma or equivalent;
- Ability to work shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and applicable statutes;
- Must become certified by FCIC/NCIC as a Telecommunications Operator within six months of assignment.
Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations.
Ability to remain calm during critical incidents.
Ability to handle several different tasks at one time; multi-functional.
Ability to operate necessary equipment, including personal computer, copier, facsimile machine, and other standard office equipment.

- Failed a Town of Davie Background Investigation, Oral Board Interview, Polygraph or Psychological Exam within the past year;
- Felony convictions;
- Steroid usage within three (3) years of the date of this application;

- Used any illegal controlled substances within three years of the date of this application with the exception of marijuana;
- Used marijuana or cannabis in any form within one year of the date of this application.
