What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plumbing Inspector (Part-Time) position at Town of Davie?
Under general supervision, performs administrative and technical work supervising and participation in the enforcement of State and local building codes governing the installation and operation of plumbing systems. Is responsible for performing both field and office work in the city plumbing and gas inspection program and securing compliance with legally established specifications and requirements. Reports to Chief Plumbing Inspector.

SCHEDULE
- Hours of work: Monday - Thursday @ 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (6 hours per day)
- Hours will never exceed 24 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Inspects plumbing installation projects so as to enforce the Florida Building code and related Town ordinances governing minimum standards and requirements of new installations, alterations, repairs and materials used.
- Inspects plumbing projects to ensure compliance with approved plans and construction and safety practices, examines facilities for quality of design, materials and workmanship.
- Assists and advises plumbers, contractors and others regarding plumbing regulations.
- Checks plans and specifications for plumbing installations.
- Maintains all necessary records and reports on inspections.
- Performs inspections of new and existing residences, businesses and other buildings for conformance with codes and ordinances, issues inspection certificates for approved installation.
- Confers with other inspectors and the Chief Plumbing Inspector on questions of departmental policies and other inspection problems.
- Confers with contractors, architects, engineers and others regarding construction codes and plumbing installation plans.
- May review and pass upon plans for plumbing installation and alterations.
- Performs other related work as required.
REQUIRED:
- Graduation from an accredited High School or GED equivalent ;
- Must meet the qualifications for Plumbing Inspector as set forth in the Florida Building Code to be certified by Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals;
- Must be certified by the State of Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulations; See Florida Building Code, Broward County Amendment Chapter 1.
- Certified by BORA with a Plumbing Inspector License from the State of Florida or any FBC approved county within the State of Florida.
- Certified by BCAIB with current Certificate of Competency or Professional License as a Master Plumber, Plumbing Contractor or Journeyman Plumber from the State of Florida or any FBC approved county within the State of Florida.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
