About the Job:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Custodian to join our Public Works team. As a Custodian, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and upkeep of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general custodial duties, including cleaning restrooms, washing and buffing floors, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows, emptying trash, etc.
- Follow and incorporate good infection control practices in daily cleaning duties.
- Perform routine maintenance and service to cleaning equipment, buildings or grounds.
- Perform basic grounds keeping and other exterior property maintenance duties.
- Required to participate in snow and ice operations and other weather-related emergencies.
- Supports town civic functions as required (IE voting, special events).
- May be required to be on call 24 hours.
- Performs assignments utilizing proper safety precautions in accordance with established procedures and policies.
- Ability to interact with employees and the general public in a courteous, helpful, and respectful manner.
- Communicates to supervisor problems regarding personnel, equipment, or ability to complete assignments.
- Required to work in all weather conditions.
