Building Inspector I or II Position
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Building Inspector to join our team at the Town of Eagle. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in upholding building codes, promoting public health and safety, and providing excellent customer service.
Hiring Range:
- Building Inspector I: $61,667 - $74,000
- Building Inspector II: $69,600 - $87,000
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance with various codes.
- Provide guidance and support to contractors and the public on regulatory matters.
- Assist in enforcing town codes and recommending corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and issue necessary warnings or citations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Requirements:
Building Inspector I
- Minimum of 1 year experience in building inspections, construction management, or related fields.
- Experience as a general contractor or sub-contractor specializing in electrical, plumbing, or mechanical installations will be considered.
- Ability to obtain 2 ICC certifications (Building, Plumbing, Energy, or Mechanical) within 3 years of employment.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Building Inspector II
- 5 years performing building inspections, plan review, plan design, construction management, or other related experience such as general contractor or project superintendent.
- The successful candidate shall possess the ability to obtain a total of four (4) ICC certifications for any codes related to Building, Energy, Plumbing and Mechanical within 3 years of employment.
