About the Job
The Trails and Land Preservation Specialist will play a critical role in shaping the future of our open space and trails program. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing trail development, engaging with the community, and securing funding to enhance open space and recreation opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee trail development including planning, maintenance, and improvements in collaboration with developers, agencies, and stakeholders
- Engage the community by managing the Open Space & Recreation Advisory Committee (OSRAC), facilitating public meetings, and coordinating special events
- Secure funding through grants and budget management to enhance open space and recreation opportunities
- Evaluate and implement sustainable land management practices, weed and pest control programs, and habitat restoration initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Parks & Recreation Administration, Natural Resources Management, or a related field
- 4 years of experience in open space, trails management, or land conservation
- 2 years of supervisory experience
